UNDERSTANDING THE BEHAVIOR
- They have a strong need
to prove that their view of the world
is absolutely right.
- In doing anything,
they know exactly what must be done
and how to do it.
- They also know exactly
what others should do to get the job
done.
- When they sense resistance
or opposition they become impatient, indignant,
and angry.
- They expect others to
be intimidated by their behavior or threats.
COPING WITH THE BEHAVIOR
- Listen to and consider their point of
view.
- Explore the reasons for their point
of view.
- Ask for and suggest alternative viewpoints.
- Counter their loud voice with your low
voice.
- Don't allow yourself to be intimidated.
- Speak up firmly for your point of view.
- Avoid becoming physical in any way.
- Move from a public arena to a private
setting.
